Evaluation - Question 2 - Brand Identity

To brand a successful film franchise, it is necessary to have a specific brand identity. For example the two franchises above use the same typography, gradient and colour for their titles. This is so their audience are familiar with their product and thus immediately recognise their new and upcoming products. Their use of brand identity has worked successfully for them as Shrek's franchise had a worldwide box office of $3,540,580,419 whilst Transformers had $3,778,297,170.

In the film industry, there are six major film studios. Which are: The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, Time Warner, CBS Corporation and Viacom - Paramount is one of them, this is due to their great use of synergy and cross media convergence. In order for people to realise when they are watching a Paramount film, they have a distinctive logo. There logo is based on a mountain with starts surrounding it. They also have more than one logo which shows there versatility. They have a 2D logo, this logo is mainly used for posters and other print media platforms. They also have a 3D logo for their trailers and their movies.

As a media conglomerate Viacom - Paramount has several subsidiaries. They own :

give them recognition but it also stops there films from being copyrighted.

  1. Little info D+ (Text)
    Again well presented.
Understanding need a lot of attention ow - explain the concept of branding and then apply it to the examples, explaining (C/B) what the colours and fonts could mean, and how they are consistent across the forms
You need to show how this compares to your OWN work in order to cover that aspect of criteria and how this is consistent in the campaign (Ie where is the snatch logo here?)
