Angela Rough Cut

3 comments:

  1. Music at the opening is not foreboding or and contracts too much with the change in mood after 10 seconds. The foley is mostly complete but the music is felt and lacking control across scenes. The title booms work well.
Proficient effort has been made with the MES in terms of locations and some of the make up - costume is lacking and in the tunnel lift it is obvious she is not dressed as a monster. It is difficult to see how this relates to the poster however as the most important shot of her levitat g/getting possessed has been secluded - this must be added as a matter of urgency.
A strong variety of footage make this seem priority for a feature length horror. Some shots go on too long and need quicker more precise cutting.
Fonts are not consistent. There are a number of stock set ups done effectively.
Overall needs editing fine tuning and work on the synching of the sound to make it scared/jumpy. It falls rathe flat currently.
    To improve:
Select more effective horror soundtrack and edit the track to change with the images not just sit over them
Mix foley and ambient sounds like stings and horror type sounds
Shoot levitation and possession scene in green screen - have Angela appearing and disappearing like I showed you on the phone
    Level 3 B- potentially A with improvements

  2. Nice calm pace to begin with, although whenever danger or jumpcuts appears the music doesn't really go with whats occurred. The loud screaming sets the scene and although the audience to be aware of the fact that this is a horror trailer and danger and fear is about to occur. A lot of effort has been made in terms of various props, the location, especially costume and make up, as the demonically possessed female has been portrayed as psychologically unstable, and fearful of nothing. The sound has a positive impact on the trailer as it carries out a building of tension throughout the the trailer.

    To improve:
    - include more jump cuts.
    - during the equilibrium change the victorian type sound into something that sounds more like horror related.

  3. The storyline is very clear and convincing, there's evidence of good editing in this trailer especially the part where Angela's face moved in a still image. Also, the soundtrack also fits with the action!!
